BETWEEN TWO WORLDS
My name is Mina Gedeon! I am a Graphic Design graduate from the University of Utah who loves all forms of creation and design. Expanding my experience and deepening my design knowledge is what I aspire to do during this stage of my life.
I ’ve always grown up with more than one way of seeing things.
I’m Palestinian and Panamanian—two cultures with incredibly different histories, traditions, visual languages, and ways of expressing themselves. Somewhere between those worlds, I developed my own relationship with color, art, design, and my sense of self.
I’m fluent in Spanish, and much of my visual inspiration comes from Central America and the Middle East: intricate patterns, expressive color, handmade textures, architecture, textiles, illustration, and the visual stories carried through generations.
But influence, to me, isn't limited to heritage.
It can be a faded sign on a street corner.
A strange color combination that somehow works.
A ceramic pattern.
A children's book illustration.
A beautiful package at the grocery store.
A perfectly imperfect shape.
I’m drawn to anything that feels colorful, soft, organic, expressive, and human.
As a designer and illustrator, I like moving between different forms of creating. Branding, illustration, typography, digital experiences, print—each project gives me another opportunity to explore how an idea can become a visual language.
